So I always wondered if unplugging your electronic goods really saves you any energy and most off in your pocket book. That question was recently answered.
According to The Consicious Consumer Blog, while it is true that an "informed and aggressive approach can reduce standby use by about 30 percent" there are more productive ways to save more energy.
The reasoning is that it can be a pain in the ass to unplug and plug back in all your electronic goods and charger.
Maybe the best way to do it if you really want to go this route is to plug your extension into one or several component and turn on and off this plug units.
At least now we now that it does actually save energy and can save us up to 30%,
